Using Bloggers Template Designer

Blogger has a new feature called "Template Designer" where you can customize your template like crazy!  This seems to work fantastic with my free blog backgrounds. When you install a blog background, sometimes the post and sidebar areas are a little off. This is now super easy to fix.
When you're in the Template Designer, there are several tabs on the left hand side. The first one is called "Templates".
I've found that when you're using one of my blog backgrounds, the "Awesome, Inc" layouts work best. Preferably the 2nd and 3rd ones that the arrows are pointing to. Click on the design you like best (don't worry, we'll change all the widths and colors later) and then lets move onto the tab that says "Adjust Widths".
In this tab you can make your post area and sidebar as wide or as narrow as you'd like.
Now click on the "Layout" tab.
This tab is so great because you can completely specify what type of layout you want your blog to have. You can choose how many sidebars and footers you want, and where you want them.
Last but not least, click on the "Advanced" tab.
This feature lets you customize pretty much everything. Blogger has a whole list of new fonts to choose from, you can change text colors and sizes and specify how you want everything to look. I LOVE this feature!
Once you have your new template exactly how you want it, click "Apply to Blog" in the upper right hand corner.
If you are using a free blog template instead of a background, the only tab you can really benefit from is the "Advanced" tab. Everything else is pretty set, but you are more than welcome to change your fonts and colors to get them just how you want!
