Alright friends. We only have 29 days til Christmas! 29 days!!!
Do you do the Elf on the Shelf every year? We just started last year and my kids LOVE it!
I’m convinced that every mother (or grandmother) needs to do Elf on the Shelf! If you’re on Pinterest, I’m sure you’ve seen the floods of pins about this little elf.
In a nut shell, you adopt an elf from the North Pole. The elf comes to your house for the month of December and every morning, it’s in a fun new place somewhere around the house. He watches your kids all day and at night, he flies back to the North Pole to report to Santa. So all the children better be good!
Here are a few Elf on the Shelf ideas I’ve come across this year. Can’t wait to try them out!
If you’re thinking about adopting an elf this year, here are a couple things I would recommend.
Buy the original Elf on the Shelf. I admit, he’s not the cutest elf I’ve ever seen, but my kids see all their friends and cousins with the same elf. I started out with a knock off and it confused them a little, so we splurged and got the real deal. He comes with a cute book that explains everything to your children though. Totally worth it. (I got mine at Target.)
This little elf will likely be hanging from a chandelier at some point in his stay this December, so I would recommend putting some wire in his arms and legs. It will make your life a whole lot easier. I wish they made him with wire, but luckily I found this easy tutorial that will show you how to do it yourself.
Have fun with this little guy! My kids LOVE searching the house each morning to find out where our elf is hiding They talk about it all year and can’t wait til he comes. Pinterest is seriously FILLED with the cutest things to do with your elf.
